The G5 (PPC64) is probably most similar to the OpenPOWER box, since
the G5 is a direct derivative of the POWER4. The two G4s running OSX
have hardware vaguely similar to my PPC32 machine, but I was running
Linux on that too. You may find that you can target Linux/PPC32 more
easily on the OpenPOWER box - the hardware itself should easily be
able to run both.
The two machines I've been trying here are a PowerMac G5 running
Gentoo Linux/PPC64, and a PowerBook G3 "Pismo" running Gentoo Linux/
PPC32. I haven't tried running the merged tree on OSX yet.
