But what about the ssl patch - where do you set the time =3Dout =
indefinite
for ssl? Or I am I misunderstanding some of the problem?

I think you can already set the MaximumDiffingTime to 0 in the current
version (effectively, you will request a "stopped" timer), but I
actually had to modify bbackupd file diff timer management altogether
to add yet another timer (for a keep-alive process). It's a pretty
"large" structural modification to both backup context and backup file
objects - not sure if Ben will want to move such code into the main
distribution. I am currently in the process of testing the heck out of
the mod.
