(I've included the info about my servers at the bottom)
Having some problems with my server. Was running 0.08 and trying to change the
soft/hard limits with bbstoreaccounts setlimit wouldn't work. it would change
it, but then when I'd look later or on server restart, it would be back to
what it was prior.
Anyway, the reason i was trying to change the limits was that one of the
server (id 30303) started to, about a week ago, started to give out of space
errors. and whenever it would try to connect ot server, i would see
'housekeeping giivng way to connection' type of errors. and would say 1000 or
so blocks removed or something. anwyay, didn't look like houskeeping was
finishing with that account. Anyway, so i decided to upgrade to 0.09 because
I thought it may be a bug fixed in the newer version. After upgrading, i
started up the server, and of course housekeeping starts. Waited three or
four hours for housekeeping to finish but it didn't finish. I didn't start
any of the clients (which I also upgraded). It did say that the sizes on
account 10101 did not match calculated sizes and correcting. oh i
accidentally started a second copy about two hours later, when I was trying to
send a kill signal to the first one. it wouldn't start since it couldn't
listen to the port. but it did start another housekeeping process which
finished about one second after it started. (possibly check if it can listen
to its port first before starting a housekeeping process?) Not sure if this
would have had any effect.
Anyway it had been two hours and then i waited anothre 3 hours. and
housekeeping didn't finish. i sent a kill signal and it said account 10101,
removed 22000 blocks, was interrupted, finished housekeeping. and terminated
daemon.
So i decided to run a fsck on the raid drives, which ran without incident.
then ran "bbstoreaccounts check fix" on all the accounts. each took about an
hour i think, except for 40404 which took about half hour. it gave some error
about ID and possibly the file was moved. but in the end, it said no errors
found.
restarted the server, and its been 2 hours and housekeeping hasn't finished
yet. should I just start up the clients? (haven't started them yet since the
upgrade). does it do housekeeping in order? since the first time i ran it,
it said 10101 was interrupted. so i can assume its trying to clean 10101
right now? and then it will go to 20202, etc. ?
thank you so much for reading this! :)
