[Box Backup] Box-Backup slow: 0.1 MiB/sec

Try to check whether the IO on the machine is the problem. My old
backup server (which is a machine with about 2 GHz) had serious
trouble with the whole bunch of tiny files bbstored writes.
I had loads of > 8 (in contrast to an average of 0.10 without
bbstored or any other heavy IO app) and usually over 95% CPU time
in the waiting for IO state. Now I moved everything to
a dedicated machine, which is some years olther and has less RAM,
CPU and older drives, however it's much faster and the load hasn't
been over 1 till now (although the backed up data doubled).
I'm not sure what the reason for that trouble was (HD, HDC, kernel),
but maybe you've got the same problem.
Just a hint: comparing the data takes quite some time, thus the
first backup should give a higher troughput than later ones. At
least that's what I've experienced...
Hope you will be able to solve your problem.
