I got the same message on FC4 x86_64. I will change it to support xattr.

A couple of months ago I had a go at porting box to OS/2 and got stuck on
the file attributes. OS/2 has always had xattr and makes extensive use 
of them.
When I get time I shall revisit the porting. I did get the client 
working but lost
all the file attributes. There are two file systems supported on OS2, 
JFS and
HPFS, now JFS is bootable so everyone seems to be moving towards this.
