Ouch, sorry! Looks like that change is not such a good idea :( Ben, is
there any way to recover the original root directory or is it lost for
good?
Matt, would it be a big problem to upload your data again, i.e. do we need
to work on data recovery for this problem?

Looks like the server is really unhappy now. Are all files in that
directory owned by the bbstored user still? If any of them are now owned
by root, please could you change the ownership back to bbstored? Are there
any error messages in the syslog on the server?
