It is by design, but it bothers many people including me, and there is a
ticket open to change it. Unfortunately it's not trivial as I don't
understand the current selection logic and I think the best solution is to
have versioned (timestamped) backups, but boxbackup was never designed for
that and it will take quite a bit of work to implement it. Sorry if that's
disappointing.
