Peter,
on 2, could you expand? Is it googled as much as the board? Dont plan on
saying anything I dont want published, just want to evaluate my exposure. On
4 just shut the entire list down for a few days, that way an appearance of
taking sides would be avoided.Tell yer mate thanx for hosting us.
thanx,
bill

I expect that we should establish a simple set of rules for conduct on the
list.

Here's my stab at it. Please add/remove/change as you see fit.

1. There are other people on this list.

2. This list is provided as a less-immediately-visible method of
communication between the IWToids. It is, however, publicly archived. Bear
this in mind when posting to it.

3. Please send mail to the list in plain text if possible.

4. In the event of a flame war, the list administrators will place the
entire list into emergency moderation mode; this measure should allow
sufficient cooling-off time to avoid repetition of unfortunate and
regrettable incidents in the past.

5. If you intend to use the list address as the registration address for
anything, don't. Basically, if you're thinking of doing anything that will
cause automated mail to come to the list, it's probably a bad idea.

6. Be nice, and remember that if you want to have a religious flame war, you
can always subscribe to linux-elitists.

7. We're hosted for free by a very generous man. Let's be nice to his server
and not post large binaries to the list.

8. Enjoy it! Use it! Be excellent to each other! (Unless it's Mike, in which
case we *shun* him)

Cheers

Peter.
