Let me give you some advice. When you make plans to meet up with someone
and you don't show up, IT'S RUDE.

Anyone with a modicum of common courtesy knows that in situations such as
this, the well-mannered thing to do is to CONTACT THE OTHER PARTY AND ADVISE
THEM OF THE CHANGE IN PLANS.

Do you know what it took for me to orchestrate an evening out? I had to
arrange for a baby sitter, pick my daughter up from day care early, pick up
my son from home, drive them both to the evening baby sitter, and drive like
a bat out of hell to get to Plymouth by 6pm BECAUSE IT WOULD BE *RUDE* TO
KEEP YOU WAITING without letting you know I was going to be late. You see,
I'm a nice person, and that is what nice people do.

So I got to the bar, got a table, ordered a beer, and waited. And waited
some more. And then I got PITY stares from the hostess. Oh, I felt so
special. And after I had been there for 45 minutes, it was OBVIOUS to the
waiter that I got stood up. So he tried to make me feel better. "Maybe he
got stuck in traffic". "Maybe he had a flat tire", etc. etc. When it was
clear you weren't showing up the waiter told me that he would hang with me
after his shift and have a beer with me. A pity date from a waiter! A
waiter who had more decency and graciousness than you, might I add. I
politely declined, but he felt compelled to sit with me for a while and keep
me company while I finished my drink. Why? BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT NICE
PEOPLE DO!!

But you wouldn't know that, would you?
