[Xml-bin] An attempt to sort things out

Yup, I'm familiar with ISO/OSI, it actually gave me the idea for this model.
The basic idea behind ISO/OSI (amongt many other layer models) is to slice
things things up in layers in order to understand them - divide and conquer
so to say. But unlike the ISO/OSI model, the layers here are not layers of
communication protocols but rather layers of data representations.

So where would you think compression makes sense?
