[Box Backup] autogen code

I am looking at the autogen parts of the box backup distro, the only
real parts that I can see at the mo that is required for win32 is the
autogen code. The main script is having problems under cygwin in
producing them - this seems to be the simplest way in getting perl and
all the relevant environment through to generate the relevant files - or
so I thought.

I bombs out when it tries to generate the autogen files (the main bit)
perl (which is prob my weakest language) does a system call to cd into
the correct directory then run perl and the relevant perl file, but
comes up with "No such file or directory".

It all looks sensible so not sure what is going on.

I have two options

1/ Create a new bare script which only does the autogen as this is all
that is required

2/ fix the cygwin issue - I know people have build under cygwin before -
so does anyone know what the issue is here?
