he did not. Just wait until bbackupd on the client machine isn't
accessing the store anylonger and try it again. It worked that way for
me. You can double check if it worked using the 'info' command, as you
already did.

One way you can check what bbackupd on the client machine is doing is
repeatedly calling "lsof | grep bbackupd"  on the client machine. And
look for open files it backups at the moment.
