[IWE] Hey Thane (or other VMWare person)

My Linux box that hosts several VMWare windows instances had the power cord
yanked.

One of the VMWare instances refuses to boot, telling me:
----------------------------
Cannot open the disk '/LONG PATH TO/Mirus_XP-000001.vmdk' or one of the
snapshot disks it depends on.
Reason: Failed to lock file.
----------------------------
In that directory there are a bunch of files that look like lock files, ie:

564d20db-d284-5100-2815-cd750bbed046.vmem.WRITELOCK
Mirus_XP-000001.vmdk.WRITELOCK
Mirus_XP.vmdk.READLOCK

Should I be able to merely delete them and start up?

I'm currently backing the dir up before changing anything.
