I haven't changed the server installation and the account is still empty
(I'm trying to do the first backup run), so I don't think it has anything
to do with changing versions.

Check, but the problem doesn't go away.

I was trying to run it in snapshot mode, when I start the lazy mode
daemon, I managed to extract the following info from the windows log
thingy:
(note the wrong version info!)
Starting daemon (config: c:\program files\ box backup\bbackupd.conf)
(version 0.08Win32)
Failed to open named pipe - connect
Beginning scan of local files
Opening connection to server et.yi.org....
Exeption caught (7/47), reset state and waiting to retry...
