Well, i've a customer which adds 2GB each run, and depends on the softlimit to delete the old versions of that file. That works fine. Only the old versions of other regular files are remove instantly too. 

Setting the soft and hard to the same will stop expunging in general. Meaning there is no automatic cleanup at all and you will run out of space and no backup is made at all. imho not an alternative.

Really? As said, I lost my precious mail archive from '99 and before. store full, accidentally deleted the files from the server, checking the backup a day later, gone there too. Sorry, but I won't ever trust anything to BB anymore.

Yes, that's what I did too. Assinging massive amount of space to an account and forgetting it. And half a year later, i noticed that my mail was gone and the store full. Set and forget is not an option in BB.

Please, I'm not putting BB in a bad spotlight. I just want to warn people so people don't loose data as I did. You can make your own judgement if you can live with this or not.
